The aim of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is to overlay the centerline route with data on geographical features and population density to establish the safety factors to be considered in the various defect assessment codes. Applied to all reported ILI anomalies, these safety factors are then used as a basis for systematic repair prioritization taking into account both the severity of the anomalies detected and the risk sensitivity of the pipeline’s immediate surroundings.
